Watch Post Malone and Red Hot Chili Peppers Perform at the 2019 Grammys
Tonight, at the 61st Grammy Awards, the Red Hot Chili Peppers took the stage and performed with Post Malone. Post began with beerbongs and bentleys’ “Stay” and “rockstar.” He then joined RHCP for “Dark Necessities.” Watch it go down below.
21 Savage, who is featured on “rockstar,” was absent from the performance and the ceremony. No mention of him was made during the performance. He was recently detained by ICE, who claim that he “is unlawfully present in the U.S.” Since the arrest, 21 has confirmed that he was born in the United Kingdom and moved to the United States at age 7. There’s also been an outpouring of support for 21 Savage from the hip-hop community. JAY-Z, for one, called the arrest “an absolute travesty,” and has hired an attorney to assist 21.
Post Malone was nominated up for four Grammys this year: Album of the Year (bb&B), Record of the Year, Best Rap/Sung Performance, and Best Pop Solo Performance. It’s the second time in the past few months that Post took an award show stage with a rock band: Aerosmith performed with Post Malone during last year’s MTV VMAs.
