Wendy Williams’s soon-to-be ex husband, Kevin Hunter, issued a humble public apology to her after years of rampant cheating and disrespect for his marital vows.
Williams filed for divorce last week after 21 years of marriage.
In a statement to The Blast, Hunter said he took full accountability for his recent actions. The father-of-2 recently welcomed a daughter with his longtime mistress, Sharina Hudson, 33.
In his lengthy statement, Hunter, 46, referred to Williams, 54, as “Wendy Williams Hunter.”
“28 years ago I met an amazing woman: Wendy Williams. At the time, I didn’t realize that she would not only become my wife, but would also change the face of entertainment and the world. I have dedicated most of our lives to the business empire that is Wendy Williams Hunter, a person that I truly love and respect unconditionally.”
“I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans. I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs.
“No matter what the outcome is or what the future holds, we are still The Hunter Family and I will continue to work with and fully support my wife in this business and through any and all obstacles she may face living her new life of sobriety, while I also work on mine. I ask that you please give me and my family privacy as we heal. Thank you.”
Hunter is accused of savagely beating Williams when she worked as NY’s top radio DJ at Power 105.1. Former staff recalled Hunter pulling Williams into a room and hearing sounds of a fight.
Despite the rumors of domestic violence and rampant cheating, the last straw for the daytime talk Diva came when Hunter fathered a daughter with his mistress, whom he met when she was still a teenager.
Williams filed for divorce on April 11. News of their divorce was first reported by Page Six.
Sources say Hunter was served with divorce papers in a gift box tied neatly with a ribbon at 6:30 in the morning. He reportedly laughed out loud when he read the document.
Hunter, who shares a 19-year-old son, Kevin Hunter Jr., with Williams, served as executive producer of The Wendy Williams Show.
He was escorted out of the New York studios by security after opening his gift box.
