Chris Brown has officially returned to the United States after filing a defamation lawsuit against the anonymous woman who claims he allegedly raped her in his Paris hotel room suite. The singer arrived at the Van Nuys airport on Jan. 26, under a week after he was released from his detainment. Check out the pics of his arrival here.
We reported earlier how Chris is taking legal action against the woman who accused him. Following his release, Brown’s legal team has since pursued a civil and criminal case against her. Since then, two lawyers have spoken to HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY about how if she did lie, Chris’ legal footing could be strong. Darren T. Kavinoky, California criminal defense attorney, TV host and legal expert, told us, “There’s a huge difference between what happens in the court of public opinion, versus what happens in a court of law. And let’s remember that the court of law we are talking about is in Paris, where the rules are very different. Generally, as much as the French jealously guard their privacy, their defamation law is regarded as more defendant-friendly.”
Meanwhile, the anonymous woman has spoken out through lawyer, claiming she was allegedly “psychologically” pressured into having sex with Chris. “My client explains that it was non-consensual sex. She was not pressured physically,” Franck Serfati, her lawyer, told AP. “This was a very particular environment with great psychological pressure” We’ll keep you posted with all of the latest news about the progress of Chris’ defamation lawsuit.
