With the new single dropping on Tuesday, both Minaj and Lavigne shared a look at the cover art for “Dumb Blonde”.
The Canadian songstress, 34, teased a sneak peek of the tune last week, detailing what inspired the anthem of self-love and female empowerment. “I had this f**king loser in my life who was threatened by my strength, confidence and independence as a woman,” she wrote in the teaser’s caption. “I was belittled and made to feel bad for who I was: A leader, someone with a vision and opinions, someone who has strength, desire, passion and goals.”
Minaj also shared the look at the new track’s artwork, revealing she’s been a fan of Lavigne’s for a long time.
“I used to drive to my job at Red Lobster playing this woman’s album for an hour straight every day for months,” the “Good Form” singer, 34, wrote. “Crying to ‘I’m With You’, blasting ‘Complicated’, ‘Things I’ll Never Say’, ‘Nobody’s Fool’, ‘Sk8er Boi’.”
She added, “This woman is so unbelievably talented.”
