LAPD Police Chief Michel Moore addressed the violence, tweeting, “We must stop this senseless violence.”

Nipsey, 33, was killed on March 31 outside his Marathon Clothing store near the intersection of West Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard. Nipsey’s funeral procession stopped at the store so fans could pay their respects.

Fans scrambled into the street as someone threw money from one of the cars in the procession.

The crowds were orderly for the most part. But news photos show a crowd of people standing on top of a police car to get a better advantage of the passing motorcade. The patrol car was spray painted with the words “Nips in Paradise” on the side.
