Canadian–French singer, songwriter, Avril Lavigne premier her new single titled “Head Above Water”, After years away from the music scene, the pop-punk princess has finally unveiled a snippet of her long-awaited new single, “Head Above Water.“ The 33-year-old singer-songwriter surprised followers with a 30-second lyric video preview of her forthcoming track posted to Twitter earlier this week.
“I’ve gotta keep the calm before the storm/ I don’t want less, I don’t want more/ Must bar the windows and the doors/ to keep me safe, to keep me warm,” Avril Lavigne sings over a piano progression, as the gloomy visual shows aerial shots of a turbulent sea.
The song marks Avril Lavigne‘s latest offering since her 2015 anthem “Fly” and follows the release of her self-titled fifth album, which dropped back in 2013. And from what we can hear, Avril Lavigne‘s comeback already sounds like the best damn thing.
